Why I'm Obsessed with Katee Robert's Books
Katee Robert (she/they) is a best-selling author of erotic romance and an absolute icon in the world of spicy stories.
Dark Olympus, a series of lusty tales inspired by Greek mythology, is what initially drew me into the world of Katee Robert's books. It didn’t take long for me to get hooked. There are plenty of reasons that I love and devour these stories, and it’s not just that they’re incredibly hot.
Katee Robert Books Show Clear Consent and Boundaries
My main reason for adoring Katee’s fiction is that consent and boundaries are clearly established, no matter what.
Characters could despise each other, literally want to (and try to) kill each other, and still, they’d get full consent for whatever out-of-this-world hate-fuck scenario was about to happen.
Consent IS sexy, and Katee shows it in their stories.

2. There’s Open Communication About Safety
Katee’s books might be fictional, but they’re real where it counts. Following on from consent and boundaries, characters don’t just hook up with anyone and everyone without thinking of the consequences.
Characters discuss birth control, protection against STIs, and their sexual health status/getting checked. They may not always make the greatest decisions in their stories, but they have the right discussions when it comes to sex and intimacy.
It may not seem like the hottest thing in the world, but for me, the precautions the characters take make them more human, and more desirable. It’s all well and good being lost in a moment and driven by lust, but the aftermath can ruin the experience if you’re not playing safe.
3. There Are a Wide Range of Stories Available
The world of Katee Robert’s fiction is VAST. It includes Greek mythology and fairy-tale-inspired series, lusty standalones, sexy stories of vampires and demons, tales of the taboo, and so much more.
On top of their published works, you can find collections of shorter tales on their Patreon, including mini-stories for some of their longer series (like Dark Olympus). Katee really spoils her readers with variety and I’m all for it.
I have so much respect for the way this author can write such an expansive range of fiction while still maintaining the magic that keeps readers pulled in across all of their books.
4. Characters Aren’t Carbon Copies
Katee’s characters are their own people with different personalities and experiences. Both in individual stories and across their works, characters are distinct.
They look, act, and think differently. They don’t all want the same thing (I mean… except for plenty of them wanting to fuck, obv).
There’s a lot of erotica that feels detached from the experience of sex. It’s not hot when characters have no personality beyond their libido, it’s off-putting. Katee writes real characters with complex emotions, and it heightens the experience of reading their stories.
5. Relationship Dynamics Differ
The range of relationship dynamics presented in Katee Robert’s books makes my heart sing. They show that there are so many ways to love.
There are monogamous, polyamorous, and open relationships, and representation of some beautiful close friendships. Sexual, romantic, and platonic preferences are not narrow or limited, they are just as varied as the characters.

I’m a sucker for a well-written poly romance, and Katee’s stories always hit the mark.
6. The Plots Are Thrilling For All Sorts of Reasons
The sex in Katee Robert’s fiction is hot as fuck, but it’s not the only intriguing part of their stories. The well-crafted plots keep me just as gripped as the relationships, even when they’re more in the background.
I’m almost caught up with Dark Olympus. As I count down the days until the next book is published, I can’t tell if I’m more excited for the new romance and spicy scenes, or finding out more about what on earth is going on in the fictional Olympus.
