Why I Play with Je Joue: the Classic Bullet
There’s a reason that so many sex toy brands have their version of a bullet vibrator. Bullets are compact, usually easy to control, and surprisingly versatile for something that looks so simple. These vibrators are great for stimulating all the right spots, and the Je Joue Classic Bullet is one of my top choices for anyone looking for a recommendation.
I’m not a massive fan of traditional vibrators, usually preferring suction, air pulse, or ‘tapping’ toys, but this one is an exception. Je Joue make a range of luxury toys, and their motor offers deep, rumbly vibrations at a low frequency.
You might be thinking, “But Lauren, low-frequency sounds weak. I need my vibe to pack a bit more of a punch to get me off.” Hear me out; as someone who has had their Je Joue Classic Bullet for a few years now, I can tell you that low frequency =/= ineffective or less powerful. Rumbling vibrations offer a different way to get you going, stimulating nerves deeper in the body that traditional vibrators generally can’t reach.
Bullet Speeds and Patterns

The Je Joue Classic Bullet has 5 speeds and 7 patterns to choose from. The difference between the lowest and highest speed is significant, with the lowest being perfect for gentle teasing, and the highest offering much more intense stimulation.
Switching between the settings is simple, so you can ease your way to climax without too much fiddling around. There are three raised buttons for controlling the speed and patterns, and the layout makes it easy to guess, by touch, which button is which during use.
Thankfully, even on its highest setting, the Je Joue Classic Bullet isn’t loud. It’s not exactly silent, but it’s quiet enough to offer you privacy. (Honestly, I got paranoid and ‘tested’ this before I first tried it, keeping the vibrator on in my room while I walked up and down the hallway and went next door to the bathroom to make sure I couldn’t hear it there).
Je Joue Classic Bullet Design
Je Joue’s Classic Bullet is available in teal or dark purple, with both colours including a pointed tip for focusing vibrations on a specific area. Less surface area on the top makes it easier to be more precise with where you want to feel the vibrations.
The bullet is rechargeable, which is always a plus for me. I’m not a fan of faffing around with batteries. For every hour of charge, you get 90 minutes of play, so it lasts for a decent amount of time between charges.
I’ve never tested this toy in the bath, but it is waterproof. There’s a silicone cover for the charging port to stop water from getting in, but I’m always weary of submerging a toy that isn’t completely seamless (or that doesn't have an external magnetic charger). But the Je Joue bullet hasn’t sustained any damage while I’ve been cleaning it with water & toy cleaner, and knowing it’s meant to be waterproof, I’ve not always been careful about where the water goes on the toy as I clean.
The Gift That Keeps On Giving
The Je Joue Classic Bullet comes with a sleeve for hands-free play. You can slip the bullet into the sleeve and then wear the sleeve on your finger, so you don’t have to keep your grip on the toy during use. It’s always nice to get a little extra gift with your purchase, and this one can be useful when things get slippery.

On the Je Joue website, there’s a note about the durability of their toys saying that they last between 3-5 years, I’ve had my Je Joue bullet for around four years, having got it soon after the last lockdown in the UK lifted, and it’s still one of the best bullets in my toy collection. It works just as well as it did when I first got it, and it’s not exactly been left unused in the past few years. It’s also nice and easy to clean, so keeping the material in good condition isn’t hard.
I’m not 100% sure if I paid for this bullet. I was working in a sex shop when I bought it, and I won or was given a few toys (from suppliers wanting to promote/help us get hands-on experience with new ranges) while there. I can’t remember whether this is one of those toys. Either way, the retail price is a bargain for what you get (£50 or less at the moment, depending on which colour you choose).
All of this to say that the Je Joue Bullet rocks (and rumbles). If you’re looking for a good quality vibe that’s versatile, gorgeous, and feels like an absolute delight, this classic bullet is a fab choice.
